Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Money is power. What we have is a useful idiot with power. The good news is that, being a good Marxist, he will do nothing to maintain/grow his wealth. Eventually it will be gone, as will he. The bad news is that it is a lot of money and he will do a lot of damage on his way out.

When I started reading this story I began rolling my eyes at yet another example of far too much money ending up in the most idiotic of undeserving hands. Calling this jerk an imbecile would be charitable. I was pissed off that the FP spent the time chronicling another lonely dystopian journey from an obscenely wealthy kid who knows nothing, has built nothing, has no moral center, and basically, buys off his acolytes to join his latest myopic crusade. I thought it was a waste of time and why bother.

As the article continued though, as the results of his influence are starting to show up in the increasing arrests, with more I'm sure to follow, I couldn't help but think of the name of one man and the beginnings of his cult influence: Charles Manson.

Expand full comment

I thought of Che Guevara and Bin Laden, who both came from wealthy families. And Sam Bank Friedman. They all think it's okay to harm others, as they are on the site of righteousness. That's what's so dangerous with this CRT and oppressor/oppressed worldview. It gives every psychopath a sense of righteousness to do evil.

Exactly. Imagine Manson with a quarter of a billion dollars. Or Jim Jones or David Koresh. It won't end well.

I did read the article. There's nothing that seems to imply that his father's shares in the trust could not be inherited by him - unless the trust specifically precludes this, and/or his father cuts him out of his will

Self loathing neurotic basket cases are common. They are simply able to do a lot more damage to the working poor and disenfranchised when they are rich.

The irony--it would be funny but for the very real suffering involved--is that all these sorts of people don't know the first effing thing about the working poor, and their politics ALWAYS makes the lives of such people worse.

But as I've pointed out many times, none of this is about building. It is about destruction. The "workers" and the poor are simply the alibi, the rationalization, for projects that consist in nothing but omnidirectional and indifferent hatred and rage.

Expand full comment

Pondering this a bit, it seems to me that people of this sort--and he is a type, who would likely be glad to be compared to rich kid Friedrich Engels--are really just engaging in a form of CosPlay. It is a masked ball, where they get to play the edgy heroes rescuing the downtrodden when NO ONE ELSE WILL. It's up to them. The clock is ticking. What will happen? Stay tuned and see.

But they forget it's a stupid game. They need their delusions to be real, so no matter how cruel the real world is to them--no matter how many reports they get of starvation and heinous crimes, no matter how barbarous their own thugs are--they resolutely persist in their fantasies. Iron Man is REAL, you see. So is Spiderman. Because it would just be too cruel a universe to survive if they weren't.

And you know a kid like this has done all the drugs, probably flirted with suicide, and come up with turning the world into his own personal theater--at least from his own perspective--as the solution to what to do with a life that doesn't need work to get by, and lacks the maturity to do anything genuinely creative or interesting. You tattoo mass murderers on your arm, and worry about flooded tents. Fuck it: that IS comical. His theater is that of the sadistic absurd. It's ludicrous. Risible. When he is not engaging in empty gestures he is helping support the destruction of good jobs in this country, making the poor more poor, probably being supported by the elites who use him for their own purposes, and generally wandering around like the lost child we can assume he is.

If I traded lives with him, I would know what to do with that money. But that is because I have worked elbow to elbow with normal people all my life ,and come from the working poor.

Exactly! He is the definition of “champagne socialist” and it just takes too much work and effort to truly understand what working class people might need the most in various industries. The best bosses I ever had in my career were the ones who had risen through the ranks and who knew exactly what was involved in the work of their subordinates because they had done it themselves. They knew how much time was involved in a job, they understood paying the rent, the need to give people challenges and rewards, etc. - in a healthy productive way. Some of the worst bosses I ever had were dazzlingly impressive resumes who were parachuted in to the company and had no clue what we did, how long it took or what was involved or what would actually help us the most. This guy is that type of useless - moneyed, with big ideas but no serious, hard experience in building anything intelligent or productive. Pathetic.

The left is unique; the rich at the turn of the 20th Century were just crazy with their luxury and didn't care much for society. Carnegie, Rockefeller, and others felt compelled to do things with cash. But in the end, in most of these communist regimes, it's a great way to be powerful and wealthy at the same time. The richest people in Venezuela are still the Chavez family? It doesn't help that the Republican party turned its back on small businesses in America. From embracing globalism and abandoning trust-busting, the Rs are just as culpable as the Ds in ruining the American Dream. Between the Dems over-regulation of work rules and tax law and embrace of open borders and China in the WTO and the Repubs whoring for corporate cash and "rates of return," small business ownership and continuation is increasingly unviable in the USA.

There are no Republicans, Democrats, Communists or Capitalists. Only the loose world wide affiliation of a powerful wealthy super elite and whatever agenda they are attempting to inflict on the world at the moment. Inside the American Constitutional Republic, avaricious wealth, through its capture, and the willing venality of American elected political leadership, continues "the greatest upward transfer of wealth in human history." Its purely opportunistic philosophy of "more", and the necessary exercise of power to maintain control of populations, requires the creation of a mercenary class of sycophantic poseurs (useful idiots), to exploit an extremist ideology, that will prevent, and scream over the top of, the human moral reason, that would create the healthy national dialogue, and necessary vision for a viable human future. Again, it is not political it is purely pathological. Entire nations can go mad. The 20th Century was a testament to the millions murdered and buried in the grave of the ideal.

Today's TFP offering on Mr. Chambers, wealth, the Communist Party and the fear of further organized mob violence: No one speaks of the Wall Street and European criminal financiers who bank rolled Lenin and Trotsky and funded the criminal gangs and violence inside Russia that brought down the Czar, enslaved the Russian people, and looted the national economy. (At that time the Czar was one of the richest men in the world.) Sound familiar? Solzhenitsyn said on numerous occasions that the leaders of the Communist revolution hated the Russian people and gladly destroyed their lives at every opportunity,

LEARNED HELPLESSNESS: A phenomenon observed in both humans and other animals when they have been conditioned to expect pain, suffering, or discomfort without a way to escape. (Hopeless much?)

Depression, anxiety, suicide, addiction and self-mutilation are the direct consequence of living inside a manufactured hyperrealistic LIE that turns the natural life force and agency of the individual against himself. And, more importantly, for our shared purpose here, actively works to silence his/her ability to speak about what is happening to him. Last weeks second Congressional Twitter File hearing confirms that reality.

Continue to ignore the man behind the cyber curtain at your own peril. Against all moral human reason and in violation of every tenet of personal privacy and the American Constitution you have been numbered, commodified, scrutinized and labeled. The cyber slave ascends and the battered and confused citizen of the Republic lies down. Want proof? Spend a half hour with Shoshanna Zuboff. Then add the revelations of the Twitter File investigation and the marriage of Googleland tech billionaires and the captured, weaponized and compromised DNC surveillance state CIC bureaucracy.

AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN!!! The American Constitutional Republic, the citizen, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights it contains, is the only voice of human moral reason, and the only engine of human survival!!

I was thinking there's more of a resemblance to Charles Manson.

Expand full comment

I’ve read a fair bit about Manson, and I don’t think “Fergie” is comparable.

Manson’s cult had a supposedly political component (i.e., the “Helter Skelter” race war, where -- in Manson’s fantasy -- blacks would rise up and take over, but wouldn’t be capable of running things, so they would call on Charlie to come out of the mystical cave in Death Valley to run the country for them [he was a stunning racist!]).

But Charlie was not really politically motivated...what he wanted was POWER over others and adulation and sex with teenaged girls (his favorite age was 13-14, see Ouish and Snake). Manson had a long history of manipulating others to do what he wanted; even in elementary school, he had a group of girls beat up a boy he didn’t like on his behalf(!) -- perfect foreshadowing. He used drugs himself, but often deployed them as a means of controlling his followers. Manson was largely devoid of guilt (he came from a poor background, with an absent biological father and a strict stepfather, and was often a discipline problem from an early age). Basically, Charlie was extraordinarily high in the “dark triad” traits, and not averse to violence, especially when carried out by others as a show of fealty.

This dude Fergie scares me more, in some ways. Imagine being so riddled with guilt, that you turn your anger and self loathing into a rage against society. Now imagine that you have enough money to influence others to join you in your rage; enough money to form a kind of army. Imagine that your brain has been severely affected by drugs over a period of many years, and that you suffer from paranoid delusions, but you’re so rich no one ever contradicts you.

Manson was never going to achieve Helter Skelter, and his cult never grew beyond a couple of dozen people. They were always broke and scrounging for money, dumpster diving and living rent free in richer peoples’ homes (old man Spahn, Dennis Wilson). The horror of the Manson murders must not be forgotten -- it was essentially the “dark side” of the hippie culture -- and it helped bring that era to an end, but it never spread to university campuses, MSM, the State Department, etc. This dude Fergie, is using considerable resources ($$$ and power/influence) to nudge this nation towards a system he doesn’t understand. That, to me, is what’s so chilling.

If the FBI was not completely corrupt, they would be on this dude 24/7/365. He’s like a combination of the Unabomber (with friends, one-third the IQ, and f*ck-wads of money); SDS/Weather Underground (recruiting at universities, but much better funded).

I agree... but - when you say "If the FBI was not completely corrupt" you hit on what is even more scary to me than this man - and that is our already corrupt institutions. He feeds into an existing problem.

Here I want to cut and paste from a brilliant comment on Friday's PITT (which is about a 15 year old girl who has been kidnapped from mom by the state of Oregon over Gender Identity). I hope the commenter doesn't mind.

"Great question. What is the endgame? Socialism and power, I think. Control. In my research I have found that the point is to create societal chaos intentionally. The more chaos the better. Open the borders, don't prosecute crime or enforce laws, change the meaning of words, encourage educated suburban Mom's in safe neighborhoods to scream to defund the police so that people and businesses actually living in inner cities suffer from more crime, remove education standards to graduate from school because that is only fair in Baltimore and Oregon (and kids actually cannot read and do math), etc. Then socialists and marxist activists come in with the "cure", the "fix", the "solution". They take control and take the power from the people. They want power. Authoritarianism. And that usually involves the populace ceding some of their freedoms in the name of the "greater good"... To be kind, to avoid so called Disinformation and speech they do not like. Words are violence, we are to believe. We must give up some freedom to feel safe. No big deal. Afterall, no one thought it was a big deal in the 1930's when the Nazi's made the Jews wear a star, or close their shops on certain days of the week. It's not THAT big of a deal, they said. No one spoke up. (Referencing the book by Erik Larson, In the Garden of Beasts). They take baby steps. Little freedoms removed one at a time. The frog doesn't know he is boiling if you warm the water slowly. So we Allow Obama to change Title Nine to allow men to compete in womens' sports - to be kind, it's not a big deal, So we let men in womens' safe and private spaces, to be kind, So we let California keep our runaway kids and call the parents abusers, to save the children who clearly are of sound mind, So we let schools make policies to keep secrets from parents and place conversion therapy bans on mental health professionals, So we let people police our speech with pronouns and allow them to accuse us of "WRONG THINK". Everyone should go back and read Orwell's 1984. The parallels are uncanny. The endgame is chaos, so "they" can come in and save the day by taking away freedoms and "changing" the country. Everyone assumes "change" is good. Does anyone ask, "What is the change we need?"" From https://pitt.substack.com/p/oregons-state-assistance-encouraged

I just came across this article on Manson’s "accelerationism" (which Psychology Today ABSURDLY attributes to “right wing extremism” — when we’ve all watched the left’s "accelerationism" play out in real time from the Cloward-Piven strategy of the ‘60s to the more recent George Floyd riots and the pro-Palestinian “demonstrations”, gender theory, the attacks on the nuclear family, the Manson-like push towards a race war, etc.)

My first thought too. Then I thought he's just George Soros, but in need of etiquette lessons. Strangely, this kid actually makes his point very effectively. The kind of capitalism that exists in the US is really more akin to plutocracy than a free market economy. The kid, his whole family, and most of the billionaire class are different only in degree, and really do hate us middle class chumps, we deplorables. If they take our culture down in flames, all the better by their measure. And we won't be able to stop them by making our paltry $100 contribution to our favored candidates.

I love New England, and have been trying to find a house there -- somewhere -- but Brooklyn's got the devils I know.

Today a derelict Black guy took a dump on my Flatbush sidewalk. Wouldn't stop no matter how loud I hollered. He's not hate-filled, like our Fergie here, just dysfunctional and aggressive.

(Although what he yelled at me as he moved away revealed I'd say some real animosity.)

I cleaned it up as best as I could now that I've put away the watering hoses and drained the outdoor pipes for the winter, but all the Clorox in the world can't erase the stench.
